Genome sequencing | Genomics conference | X Symposium CRG Barcelona 2011

Event Description

The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is pleased to present the Computational Biology of Molecular Sequences Symposium, the 10th in the CRG Annual Symposium series. Organised by the CRG, the 2011 edition of the Annual Symposium will be held in Barcelona on November 10th and 11th. The CRG Annual Symposium series began in 2002 and has grown since then to become a platform where leading researchers can meet to present and discuss breakthroughs in several fields of the biomedical sciences. Now in its tenth year, the symposium will focus in cutting-edge computational biology of molecular sequencing and next generation sequencing technology platform and data analysis.

Advances in methods to sequence nucleic acids, coupled with more general advances in automation, robotization, and multiplexing, have resulted in the capacity to survey the phenomena of life in a global manner and with unprecedented resolution. As a result, Biology, traditionally an analytic science in which the natural world is dissected in its elemental components in order to be comprehended, is becoming a synthetic science, in which the phenomena of life is approached in more systemic way.

Forum

The objective of this forum is to provide a platform where all participants in the next X CRG Annual Symposium can discuss topics related to the symposium. As a new feature in this edition of the CRG Annual Symposium series, some of the speakers will be actively participating in the forum so that your topics and subjects for discussion could become the basis of some of the talks. We hope that you find it useful and we encourage you to participate and create a proactive meeting point for the experts invited to the symposium and for anyone interested in the field of Computational Biology of Molecular Sequences. Let's start with the discussions!
